Your Home screen now starts with what needs you today
A smiling host holds a mug in her kitchen. Next to her, the Home screen of the Holidu Host App shows three cards: tomorrow’s check-in at Villa Mar with a request for a travel cot, Oliver’s 5-star review of Casa Oliva, and last night’s new booking.
Tomorrow’s check-in, a guest still waiting for a reply, last night’s booking: your Home screen lists them in order of what needs you first, and you can act on each one without leaving the page.
It’s 8:30 on a Friday morning, and you open Holidu with your first coffee. The top card says today’s guests arrive at 16:00 and still need to pay the tourist tax on arrival. Below it, tomorrow’s family needs a travel cot for their three-year-old. Further down, someone who hasn’t booked yet is waiting for answers to three questions.
You didn’t open a single booking to find any of that. Your Home screen puts the most urgent things first, and you can deal with most of them right there.
6 things your Home screen shows when you open it
Each card is about one booking, one guest or one task, with the details pulled from your bookings, messages and property notes:
- Arrivals and departures. Who’s coming and when, how many adults and children, and what’s still open, such as tourist tax that needs to be collected on-site. The property photo shows at a glance which home it’s about.
- Guests waiting for you. Messages from guests, questions from people who haven’t booked yet, and requests to change a booking.
- New bookings and changes. Dates, number of guests, the booking site it came from and your payout.
- Reviews. The stars, the guest’s words and your new average, for example 4.7 out of 5 across 40 reviews.
- Problems to fix. For example, a booking site where a property can’t be booked at the moment.
- Guides articles like this one, when there’s something new worth knowing.
The cards are in order of what needs you first. Anything with a date moves up as the day gets closer, and a guest’s message moves up the longer it waits.
When a notification tells you something has happened, the card is where you find the details and the button to deal with it. The same cards are in the Holidu Host App, so you can go through them on your phone over your first coffee.
What you can do from each card
Each card ends with a button for the next step. Some hand the task to the Holidu AI Assistant, and the others take you straight to the right place in your account.
The AI Assistant writes the first draft. You may know it from changing prices or setting up a discount. On your Home screen, it helps with everyday tasks too:
- Draft a welcome message prepares a message for guests before they set off, for example to confirm the travel cot is ready.
- Draft a tax reminder writes a short note to guests who still need to pay the tourist tax.
- Help with my reply drafts an answer to a guest’s message, or a personal reply to a review, including a calm, professional answer to a critical one.
- Explain the changes sums up what changed in a booking, tells you what to do about it, and drafts a confirmation for your guest.
Nothing goes to your guest unless you approve it: you read the draft, change what you like and send it yourself.
On a photo of Villa Mar, the Home screen card for Sophie’s check-in tomorrow at 15:00, with her request for a travel cot and the button Draft a welcome message. Next to it, the Holidu AI Assistant shows a draft welcome message that confirms the travel cot will be ready.
Other buttons take you straight to the right place.
- View booking opens the full booking next to your Home screen, with the guest, dates, payout and fees. Close it and you’re back at the same card.
- Answer question opens pre-booking questions from booking sites that let people ask before they book. When the AI Assistant can’t answer, the question comes to you. Answer with a Yes or No and a comment, or a short reply in your own words.
- Problem cards take you to the part of your account that needs your attention, for example a booking site where your property can’t be booked at the moment.
- Article cards open the article.
How your answers keep working for you
When you answer a guest’s question, tick the box to save your reply and you won’t have to answer similar guest questions again. Every reply you save adds to what the AI Assistant knows about your home, and it already answers 8 in 10 guest questions automatically. Tick the box to update your property description based on the provided answers too, and the next guest will find the answer in your listing before they need to ask.
The Questions about your property panel: a guest asks whether they can park near the house, the host answers Yes, right by the gate, and ticks Save your reply. Next to it, a later guest asks the same question and the Holidu AI Assistant answers for the host: you can park right by the gate.
Your morning routine in three steps
- Clear each card once it’s done. Deal with the top card from its button, then click ✕ on it or on any card you don’t need, and the next one moves up.
- Ask for anything that isn’t on a card. Type it into “What do you want to do today?” at the top of your Home screen, for example to block a few nights in your calendar or change a price.
- Look further ahead in Booking activity. Under Check-ins & check-outs, View all upcoming shows the arrivals that aren’t on a card yet. Your calendar shows them too.
Frequently asked questions
Where did my list of new bookings go?
It’s in the Booking activity tab (next to Home), which has two sections. Check-ins & check-outs shows every arrival and departure in the next 7 days, and View all upcoming shows the ones after that. Recent booking activity shows your latest bookings and changes, and View all latest opens the complete list.
Why is my Home screen empty?
Cards only appear when there’s something that needs you. In a quiet week, that can mean one card or none, and your Home screen says “You’re all caught up for now!”. Nothing is broken: there’s simply nothing waiting for you today.
When do cards appear and disappear?
Each card shows up when it becomes useful: a new booking card the day the booking comes in, a check-in card 14 days before arrival, a check-out card from the day your guests arrive, and a reminder to review your guest after they leave. You can clear a card with the ✕. How long it stays away depends on the card and how important it is.
Does the AI Assistant send messages for me?
Not from these cards. It writes a draft, and you decide whether to change it and send it.
Will I still get notifications for new bookings and messages?
Yes. Your notifications work as before, on your phone and by email. The Home screen is where you land when you open Holidu.
Is the Home screen the same in the Holidu Host App?
Yes. You’ll find the same cards and the same Booking activity tab on your phone and on your computer.
