Your future team

You will be part of the Bookiply product team, composed of backend and frontend developers, designer, product manager, and QA. Together with your teammates, you will focus on creating a best-in-class tool to help our homeowners manage their properties effortlessly. You will be responsible for bringing new features to our cross-platform app and delivering a great user-experience to our homeowners.

Our Tech Stack

  • Backend services written in Java 8-15 and Kotlin on the Spring Boot framework.
  • Deployed as microservices on AWS hosted Kubernetes cluster (EKS).
  • Event-driven communication between services through ActiveMQ.
  • Usage of a diverse set of technologies depending on the use case such as Postgres, SQS, S3, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and many more.
  • Web-application written in ReactJS.
  • Native iOS and Android apps written in React Native. 
  • Monitoring with ELK, Grafana and own technologies.

Your role in this journey

  • Together with your team you are fully responsible for our backend services that power our homeowner facing app. Your team delivers new features, improves the scalability of our applications and designs a long lasting backend infrastructure to support our growth.
  • In close collaboration with the product manager and frontend engineering manager you shape ideas, define the roadmap of the team and commit to delivering great results.
  • Drive the technological roadmap forward and ensure we follow current best practices. 
  • Mentor your team members, encourage individual growth by providing actionable and consistent feedback, and help them be successful in delivering world class results. Additionally, lead the recruiting efforts for your team and ensure a fast and efficient process.
  • Foster ownership and guide your team to excellence in execution and learning.
  • Coordinate between different teams and work towards a shared vision.
  • Effectively communicate progress of your team’s work in department and company meetings. Actively participate in discussions that directly impact the direction of your team’s work.

Your backpack is filled with

  • Finished studies in Computer Science, or related fields and professional experience after or during your studies.
  • Professional experience as a backend developer, ideally you have worked or you have the strong motivation to work with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS and the rest of our stack.
  • You can communicate clearly with your peers and non-tech stakeholders and you strive to develop ideas and features in a collaborative and constructive process.
  • You can break down a long term technical vision into incremental work.
  • You plan, prioritise, drive coworkers to execute, report on progress and blockers.
  • You enjoy working in a challenging and empowering environment with ambitious goals.
