After the closure of the restaurant, the town hall of the town was housed here for a short time. Today the Rapp Saloon is one of the landmarks of Santa Monica.

The modern Saint Monica Catholic Church is known above all for its prominent churchgoers. These include the actor and former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was also the site of the funeral of the actress Lucille Ball, who became famous through the television programme "I love Lucy" from the 1950s.
