Hidden Gems for New York
Find great things to do in New York
New York City is an experience unlike any other. Every culture is represented here and the city is famous for its fashion, nightlife, art, food, and theater. Start your adventure in the big apple! In our travel guide you will find great things to do in New York.
1. Hidden Gem New York: Brooklyn Flea Market
No matter if in summer or winter, this is probably the best flea market you can visit. From April to October, the flea market in DUMBO is part vintage bazaar, part old-fashioned town square and part food bonanza. Here you will find hundreds of top vendors for furniture, vintage clothing, collectibles and antiques, as well as a selection of jewelry, art, and crafts by local artisans and designers. The market takes place every sunday. The “winter flea” from November to April is located in the Atlantic Center and open on Saturdays and Sundays. Feel free to stroll around, explore and find some treasures.

2. Hidden Gem New York: Gallow Green Rooftop
If you’re looking to escape NYC without leaving the city, Gallow Green rooftop is a good place to go. You’ll feel like you’ve been whisked miles away to an outdoor garden. Gallow Green is located on the rooftop of the McKittrick Hotel in Chelsea, a neighbourhood on the West Side. You can dine here or take a drink in the middle of a lush garden oasis with lots of ambient lighting. While Gallow Green is the perfect location to spend a fantastic summer evening, it also offers an unforgettable experience during the winter! The McKittrick Hotel’s rooftop transforms every year into a mountainside retreat. You can relax here with a warm drink in a cosy, ski cabin atmosphere.

3. Hidden Gem New York: The Wild Son Café
This café is an amazing brunch spot in the meatpacking district between the highline and the hudson river. The Wild Son serves breakfast and lunch with a menu focused around a “healthy philosophy”. While the dishes cover the breakfast classics, they go beyond to include nutritious ingredients. A favorite is the gluten-free “Buckwheat Pancakes” with wildflower honey, orange and turmeric butter. The bar serves creative cocktails, cold beers and organic wines as well as fresh and fancy juices. Whatever you choose will be delicious!

4. Hidden Gem New York: Guggenheim Museum
The Guggenheim New York Museum with its landmark building—designed by Frank Lloyd Wright — is famous for its impressive collection and temporary exhibitions. The museum itself is an iconic architectural masterpiece – you gradually walk up a spiraling pathway from floor to floor, pausing to admire the modern art along the way. In addition to pieces by Manet, Picasso, Chagall and Bourgeois, you can find the largest collection of Kandinsky in America here. The general admission tickets cost 25$. But we have a good piece of advice: the Guggenheim offers a pay-what-you-wish policy on Saturday from 5:45 to 7:45 pm.
