The old town of Cidade Velha is surrounded by an old city wall and exudes a very special atmosphere due to its Arabic roots. Here you can stroll along narrow alleys lined with white houses, where numerous cafés and shops invite you to stroll. Worth seeing hotspots in the old town are the parish church Ingreja Matriz as well as the archaeological museum at the Praça da Republica.

In Guia there is the Zoomarine theme park, which presents alligators and seabirds as well as dolphin and seal shows. Another attraction is the water park Slide and Splash, where crazy rubber ring tracks and water slides provide unforgettable experiences. Both theme parks can be easily reached by shuttle bus from Albufeira.

The Galeria de Arte on the main square of the old town offers a nice change, where you can admire changing art exhibitions with free admission. The art gallery is located in a beautiful building dating from 1926 and shows the works of young Portuguese artists.
