Set on St. Simon’s Island, the archaeological remains of Fort Frederica National Monument make for a wonderful afternoon of exploring. The wonderfully preserved fort was originally built in the mid-1700s and was once home to over 500 colonial residents. It is set right along the ocean and the grounds offer spectacular views of the coastal area.
