1. Hidden Gem Budapest: Mazel Tov

You can´t decide if you want to visit one of the famous ruin pubs or rather go to a restaurant? Why not do both? Mazel’tov is a cozy spot where you can sample the specialities of both Israeli and Middle Eastern cuisine. During the summer, the warm, bright sunlight shines through the high glass ceilings and fills the courtyard with light and good vibes. During winter, underfloor heating and hot drinks radiate warmth. The old building was fully renovated and redesigned, all that remained is the original walls. The food is also really delicious! Make sure to try the hummus for starter, or how about this dish as a main: Delicious chicken thigh fillet with secret spices served with traditional matbucha salad, mazel tov beetroot, tahini and fresh grilled pita topped with pomegranate seeds.

6. Hidden Gem Budapest – Leo Rooftop Bar

There’s no better way to end a day than with some good drinks while watching the sunset. The latest addition to the list of open-air terraces is LEO on Clark Ádám tér, the first rooftop bar in the Buda area. It’s almost literally within arm’s reach of the Chain Bridge, a historic Budapest landmark, with equally good views of the Buda Castle and, well, the whole city. The bar is decorated like a tropical forest with green-hued patterns and parrot-shaped glasses. How about a “Left Hand Ricky” cocktail? It is a refreshing blend of gin, fino sherry, cucumber, banana, apple, mint and peach.
