Verifying your account as a private host on Holidu is an important step to ensure secure transactions and maintain trust with guests. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the entire verification process step by step.

Why Account Verification Matters

Account verification protects both you and your guests by confirming your identity and ensuring legitimate transactions. Once verified, you'll have full access to all host features and payment functionality on the Holidu platform.

Important Note

This verification process can only be completed by the host, specifically the primary account holder in Holidu. Make sure you're logged into your main account before beginning.

What You'll Need to Get Started

Before beginning the verification process, gather the following documents. Please note that Adyen, our payment partner, does not accept scanned documents. Only clear photos or official digital downloads of original documents will be accepted.

• Official identification such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID
• Proof of bank account ownership, such as a recent bank statement or deposit slip
• If you're a freelancer, sole trader, or sole proprietor, your registration number

Step-by-Step Verification Process

Step 1: Access Your Account Settings

Log into your Holidu host account and navigate to the Account tab. Look for the Validate button to begin the verification process. You may be asked to sign a new agreement at this point. Simply accept to continue. This agreement won't change your current pricing.

Step 2: Verify Your Personal Information

Click on Personal Details to begin. Review the information that's already pre-filled based on your Holidu account. If any details need editing, click the Edit button to make corrections. Add any missing information and ensure everything is accurate based on your official documents.

At the bottom of this section, select whether your bank account is in your personal name or registered under your sole proprietorship. If applicable, provide your registration number and business address. Once you've confirmed all details are correct, click Next to proceed.

Step 3: Confirm Your Address

Enter your address in the search field, and the system will autofill the remaining details. This is a critical step because your address must match exactly with the address on your identification document. If your billing address is different from your personal address, update it to match the address shown on your ID.

Step 4: Verify Your Identity with ID Documentation

You have two verification options available. Choose the method that works best for you.

Instant Verification (Recommended Method)

1. Select the country that issued your identification document
2. Choose your document type from the available options: passport, driving licence, or ID card
3. Verify that your document matches all the personal information you've entered
4. Scan the provided QR code with your phone or request the link via SMS
5. Take clear, high-quality photos of both sides of your document
6. Submit for immediate verification

Manual Verification

1. Select your document type
2. Upload clear, high-quality photos of your document from your computer
3. Ensure the photos show the entire document and are well-lit and readable
4. Click Next to submit
5. Allow up to 72 hours for manual verification to complete

Step 5: Add Your Bank Account Details

Ensure that your bank account is registered under the same name you provided in the personal information section. Choose one of these two verification methods to confirm your banking details.

Instant Verification

1. Select your online banking provider from the available options
2. Log into your bank account through Tink, our trusted verification partner
3. Your login credentials are never stored by Holidu or Tink and are only used for verification purposes
4. Verification will complete immediately upon successful connection

Manual Verification

1. Enter your bank account details manually
2. Upload a recent bank document issued within the last 12 months
3. The document must clearly show your name, IBAN, and for non-EU residents, the bank location
4. Click Next to submit
5. Allow up to 72 hours for verification to complete

Step 6: Complete Sole Proprietor Information (If Applicable)

If you operate as a sole proprietor, freelancer, or sole trader, you'll need to provide additional business information at this stage.

Enter the following details exactly as they appear on your official registration documents:

• Your business legal name
• Your registration number (or indicate if you don't have one)
• Your business address, ensuring it matches your legal registration address

Step 7: Review and Sign the Service Agreement

Carefully review the service agreement provided by Adyen, our payment service provider. This agreement outlines the terms for processing payments through your Holidu account. Once you've reviewed the agreement and understand its terms, click the Sign button at the bottom to complete this step and proceed to final verification.

Step 8: Complete Your Verification

Your verification process is now complete. What happens next depends on which verification method you selected.

If you used Instant Verification for both your identity and bank account, your account status should update immediately and you'll have full access to all host features.

If you used Manual Verification for either step, allow up to 72 hours for our team to review your documents. You can track the status of your verification at any time in your Holidu account. Your verification status will change from In Review to Complete once the process is finished.

• Ensure Document Clarity: Make sure all photos are clear, well-lit, and fully visible. Blurry or partially visible documents may be rejected.
• Maintain Consistency: Double-check that the information on all your documents matches, especially your name and address across all documents.
• Monitor Your Email: Keep an eye on your inbox during the verification process. We may need to contact you with updates or request additional information.
• Correct Information First: If you notice any errors in your account information, correct them before starting verification to avoid delays.
• Use Quality Images: When uploading documents manually, use high-resolution images taken in good lighting to ensure readability.
