The municipality of List on the island of Sylt offers excellent conditions for a relaxing holiday due to its proximity to the sea and the Wadden Sea nature reserve. A hike takes about two and a half hours and leads to the narrowest part of the island. You will learn interesting facts about the formation of dunes, coastal changes, coastal finds, coastal birds and the forces of nature.

At the harbour there are some excellent restaurants as well as a lively hustle and bustle to be observed. From here you can also reach the ferry connection to the Danish island Rømø, which invites you to a day trip. There are also excursions to the seal banks in the Wadden Sea off the west coast of the island.

Germany's only oyster farm, the Dittmeyers Oyster Company, is located in List. The company was founded in the 1920s. Today Dittmeyer's oysters are delivered to many delicatessens and restaurants throughout the country. By the way, you can dine excellently in the famous Gosch, the northernmost fish stand in Germany.

The Lister Christmas Market is organized by the spa administration and always takes place on the first Advent weekend. There will be arts and crafts stands as well as Christmas punch and culinary delights. There is also an entertaining programme with dance, music and a big tombola.
