Apartments in Bulgaria

Large selection of accommodation of all kinds

In Bulgaria you will find a variety of holiday homes, which are especially suitable for group trips. You can rent a holiday apartment for groups of up to 10 people. A vacation rental or a finca even offers enough space for up to 20 people. Often the accommodations are equipped with terrace or garden. If you are looking for a particularly comfortable environment, you will find some offers with swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna.

Pay attention to the position

Depending on the type of holiday you are planning, it is best to look for a vacation rental that is close to the holiday activity. In the east of the country, along the miles long coast to the Black Sea, you will be offered a comprehensive range of comfortably furnished holiday apartments. In the west there are many accommodations not far from the fantastic ski resorts. Of course you can also reside in a holiday apartment in the most beautiful cities of the country and quickly reach the most impressive sights.

Location and orientation

Overview of the Republic of Bulgaria

Bulgaria is located in the east of the Balkan Peninsula and borders Romania in the north. The neighbouring countries to the west are Serbia and Macedonia, to the south Turkey and Greece. Bulgaria lies in the east directly at the Black Sea. The capital of the country is Sofia. Other interesting cities are Varna, Plovdiv, Russia, Burgas and Stara Sagora.

Travelers and Activities

Black Sea bathing holiday

In summer Bulgaria is a popular holiday destination, as the country has a 380 km long Black Sea coast and offers many possibilities to experience a dream holiday in a vacation rental at the sea. The most famous beach in the north is the Goldstrand. In the south, the sunny beach is a tempting place for swimming, diving and sailing. By the way, there are 14 harbours along the Black Sea coast, which is why the region is very popular among sailors.

The most beautiful skiing areas

In the west and centre of Bulgaria there are a total of 207 kilometres of slopes that invite you to go skiing. The country's ski resorts reach up to 2,500 metres above sea level. Well-known and beautiful ski resorts are Bansko, Saparewa Banja and Borovets.

Christo Jawaschew is the best-known Bulgarian artist to have veiled the Pont Neuf in Paris and the Reichstag building in Berlin.

Top 3 travel tips

1. The rider of Madara

Bulgaria's most important monument from days long gone is the rock relief Reiter von Madara, which was created in the 8th century. It is located not far from the village of Madara and the city of Pliska and rises a hundred meters high. This early medieval monumental relief was once the main cult site of the First Bulgarian Empire and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.

2. The most beautiful church in Sofia

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, which is the landmark of the state capital, is extremely worth seeing. This impressive sacred building was completed at the beginning of the 20th century and has five naves. Inside there are many wood carvings decorated with gold, marble and mosaics. The glass paintings, domes and walls with frescoes are also impressive.

3. To the cape at the Black Sea coast

A particularly impressive hotspot of Bulgaria is Cape Kaliakra, which rises up to 70 metres from the sea. In former times this place served as a defence, which is why the Thracians already built a fortress here. Today you can still visit the remains of the fortress wall and enjoy the wonderful view of the sunset.
