Learn how to connect your Holidu property to Alloggiati Web for compliant guest check-in reporting in Italy.
Understanding the Legal Requirement
In Italy, all accommodation providers—including holiday rental hosts—must report guest information to the local police within 24 hours of arrival. If the stay is shorter than 24 hours, guest details must be reported upon arrival. This requirement is established by Article 109 of the Consolidated Law on Public Security.
Holidu's integrated check-in feature helps you meet this legal obligation by automating data collection and simplifying the reporting process through the Alloggiati Web portal, managed by the Italian State Police.
Required Guest Information
When using the check-in feature, you must collect the following information from your main guest:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Passport or ID number
- Date of arrival
- Place of birth
Additional guests must provide basic personal information (full name, date of birth, and nationality), but document numbers are not required for them.
Important Information About Document Verification
You are required to verify the identification of your guests in person at check-in. Only the main guest needs to provide their identification document type and number. Other guests will appear with empty document fields in your guestbook, which is normal and compliant with Italian regulations.
