About 100 miles from Athens, you will find the mystical, historical world heritage site of Delphi on the lower slopes of Mount Parnassus. The Delphi archeological museum is filled with rare antiquities found at this site. The buildings of the town of Delphi are clustered dramatically against steep slopes and feature picturesque streets and wonderful traditional tavernas with sparkling white tablecloths.

The picturesque town of Kalambaka located some four hours north of Athens is framed by a brooding rocky outcrop that towers over the plain. In the fall the changing leaves make the view of the red roofed ancient monasteries perched precariously on top of the rocky monoliths even more mystical and magical. 6 of these fairy tale buildings are open to the public and can be accessed via several flights of stone carved steps. This hike is 9 miles long and involves a breathtaking hour-long descent into the jagged, narrow gorge to the stream at the bottom of the gorge. Here you will stand in a narrow gap gazing up at 984 foot sheer rock faces. Crete is home to some of the best beaches in Greece where endless miles of clear water swish back and forth as the waves break over pale arcs of sandy beach bays and promenades. Elafonissi beach boasts soft pink sand and pale turquoise lagoon waters and is located on a secluded islet. This is a beach you will never want to leave!
