Vacation rentals in Chiang Mai

An apartment in Thailand's cultural metropolis

Chiang Mai lies in the heart of the Mae Nam Ping Valley and as the cultural centre of northern Thailand offers a wide range of holiday accommodation, from single apartments to cosy holiday apartments and family vacation rentals with their own tropical gardens. The largest offer is in the center of Chiang Mai, which is characterized by modern glass buildings and captivates with short distances to places worth seeing, such as the Chiang Mai Park and with an incredible variety of restaurants. Alternatively, you can settle down in a holiday apartment on the still very quiet outskirts of town, where you can enjoy the idyll amidst numerous traditional teak houses.

Travelers and Activities

Experience Asian culture at your fingertips

Chiang Mai is one of Thailand's major Buddhist centres and was included in the provisional UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015 not for nothing. And there is a lot to discover, especially as the city alone is characterized by 10 monumental temples (Wats). Especially worth seeing is the Wat Chaing Man, which houses the world-famous crystal Buddha inside, which was made of pure rock crystal in the 7th century. Also not to be missed is a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, where you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the entire valley from the viewing platform. If you want to travel back in time, take a trip to the archaeological site Wiang Kum Kam. A real travel tip is the Yi Peng Festival at the end of October. Be there when hundreds of thousands of lanterns rise into the night sky.

Things to know

Best travel time

Due to its proximity to the equator, Chiang Mai is characterized by three seasons. These include the hot dry season from March to April, the sultry rainy season between May and October and a warm and dry period between November and February. No wonder that the main season is between November and February. Alternatively, you can book your vacation rental for the low season from mid-April to mid-June.

Chiang Mai is also known as the "Rose of the North" thanks to its scenic beauty.
