There are more than 50 museums in Zurich, 14 of which exclusively present art. The Kunsthaus Zürich is highly recommended, as it displays an important collection of sculptures, paintings, photography and video art. Among others, works by Alberto Giacometti and Edvard Munch are presented here.

An important festival always takes place in Zurich in April. At the Sechseläuten the "Böögg" is burnt down in the context of a parade of the guilds. This ritual is to destroy the personified winter to make way for spring.
