This guide reflects the Italian statistical reporting requirements as updated in October 2025. Rules and regional portal procedures can change, so check your local authority or tourism office if you are unsure whether anything has changed for your property.

What Is Statistical Reporting in Italy?

In Italy, all accommodation providers must submit monthly statistical reports to the authorities. These reports track tourism trends at national and local levels, so governments and local administrations can plan tourism more effectively. You must submit a report even if your property was closed or had no guests during the month.

What Information Is Required for Statistical Reporting?

Each month, hosts must report the following details for their property:

• Property name
• Property type (for example, hotel, B&B, or holiday home)
• Days open or closed
  • A property is considered open if it was available for at least one day in the month.
  • A property is considered closed only if it remained closed for the entire month.
• Total available rooms for the month
• Total available beds for the month
• Total number of guests checked in during the month
• Guest nationalities
  • For Italian guests, the province where they reside must also be reported.
• Total number of occupied nights

Do Manual Submissions Require Extra Information?

If you submit your report manually instead of using Holidu's automatic connection, some regional portals, such as ROSS1000, may ask for additional information, such as your guests' ID document numbers. This applies only to manual submissions. If you use Holidu's automatic reporting, this information is not required and is not sent.

How Do Hosts Get Credentials for Statistical Reporting?

Each province in Italy has its own regional portal where hosts must register to obtain login credentials. The process can vary by local authority, but in general you will need to:

1. Identify the correct regional portal for your property's location.
2. Register as an accommodation provider on that portal.
3. Receive your login credentials (username and password).
4. Use these credentials to submit your monthly statistical reports.

If you are unsure where to register, contact your local municipality or tourism office for guidance.

How Do You Submit the Statistical Report?

Each province in Italy has its own regional portal where accommodation providers submit their data. To reduce the time spent on manual submissions, Holidu offers automatic statistical reporting as part of its regulatory support for the Italian market. Once your account is connected, the required data is submitted for you.

How Do You Enable Automatic Reporting?

Connect your statistics account in Holidu. The integration then handles the recurring monthly submissions.

Does Automatic Reporting Cover Months With No Guests?

Yes. The Holidu ISTAT integration also reports to ISTAT when there are no guests during a given month. This helps you stay compliant even when your property is unoccupied.

Should You Use Alloggiati Web or Motourist?

Your choice depends on how your bookings are made.

If you have private or direct bookings:

• Holidu can only report guest data for bookings registered in the Holidu system. Private or direct bookings are never sent automatically.
• Motourist does not allow mixing automatic and manual submissions. Once your ISTAT connection is active through Holidu, you cannot separately submit your direct bookings manually.

Recommendation: If you have private or direct bookings, do not activate the automatic ISTAT connection to Motourist. Instead, submit your ISTAT statistics manually so that they cover all of your bookings.

Your Alloggiati Web connection, which is used for guest check-in registration, is not affected by this and can remain automated.

How Do You Connect Your Property to Statistical Reporting?

1. Go to the "Statistics Connection" section in your Holidu account.
2. Set up the integration with your statistics account to automate guest reporting.
3. Click Validate and Save changes.

Once connected, Holidu handles your monthly submissions. Check your statistics connection regularly to make sure it stays active.
