On which channels can guests leave a review?

Guests can leave a review about their stay on every channel that is connected to Holidu, including Holidu Homes, Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, and other integrated platforms. This means your property receives reviews across all active channels where your listing is available.

On which channels can hosts leave a review about their guests?

As a host, you can leave a review about your guests on the following channels:

  • Airbnb
  • VRBO

Review capabilities may vary depending on your specific channel settings and account configuration. Check your account settings to see which channels allow guest reviews for your listings.

How to respond to a guest review for all channels

Step 1: Receive an Email Notification

Whenever a guest leaves a review on Holidu or any connected channel, you will receive an email notification with the review details and a link to respond. This notification ensures you never miss an opportunity to engage with your guests.

Step 2: Access Your Holidu Account

Click the "Reply to Your Guest" button in the email notification. This will take you directly to your Holidu account, where you can write your response to the guest review in one centralized location.

Step 3: Write and Submit Your Reply

When composing your response, keep these key principles in mind:

  • Acknowledge the guest's feedback and thank them for their stay
  • Address concerns professionally by focusing on solutions rather than disagreements
  • Stay welcoming and remember that future guests will also read your reply

Once you write your response, the system will check for clarity and professionalism. If edits are needed, you will be notified before submission.

Step 4: Review and Publish

  • Holidu will review your response to ensure it meets quality standards and platform guidelines
  • Important: Once a response is published, it cannot be changed, so take time to review before finalizing

  • Start with a thank you – Always appreciate the guest for choosing your property and staying with you
  • Stay professional and positive – Even if the feedback is critical, reply in a calm, constructive manner
  • Address concerns and highlight improvements – Show that you listen to feedback and genuinely care about guest satisfaction

  • Keep it concise – Write clear, well-structured responses that are easy to read

How to Leave a Guest Review on Airbnb and VRBO

Accessing the Review Option

You can leave a guest review in two ways:

  1. Look out for the email reminder you will receive after a guest checks out
  2. Alternatively, log in to your Holidu host account, navigate to Bookings, and open the specific reservation to leave a review

Timeline for Leaving Reviews

You have up to 7 days after checkout to leave a review for your guest. If no review is submitted within this period, the guest will automatically receive a positive review from the platform.

What You Can Include in Your Guest Review

  • A star rating that reflects your overall experience
  • A written review describing your experience with the guest
  • Private feedback that is only visible to the guest

Editing Your Guest Review

You have 1 hour after submitting your guest review to make changes or corrections. To edit your review, simply return to the booking in your Holidu account and click the Edit option.

Important Considerations for Reviews and Responses

  • Your reviews and responses are visible to guests and may be visible to future guests, so always use professional language
  • Timely responses are recommended to show guests you are engaged and responsive to feedback
  • Reviews and responses may be subject to moderation according to Holidu's community guidelines and platform policies
  • If you do not see review options for a reservation, verify that the reservation has been completed and check that you are using the correct platform version

Transferring Reviews When Moving to Holidu

Booking.com

If you want to deactivate your direct Booking.com listing and activate it via Holidu instead, you may be eligible to request a change of ownership to transfer your full listing and reviews. However, certain conditions must be met. Contact our support team through the Assistant to determine your eligibility and assistance with the transfer process.

Airbnb

Unfortunately, you cannot transfer your full listing and reviews from a personal Airbnb listing to Holidu. You will need to close your existing listing and open a new one through Holidu. However, if you have accumulated a high number of reviews on your Airbnb listing, Holidu may offer a temporary discount on commissions as an incentive to transition to the platform. Contact our support team through the Assistant to explore this option.

VRBO

While you cannot transfer your complete VRBO listing to Holidu, you can request to transfer your historical reviews. If you close your VRBO listing, our team can request that the platform transfer your reviews to your new Holidu listing, helping you maintain your visibility and rating. Reach out to our support team through the Assistant to initiate this process.

Other Channels

Review transfer options are not currently available for Check24 or HomeToGo listings. These channels require you to build reviews through your new Holidu listing.
