How to Add a Manual Calendar Block

Follow these steps to add a manual calendar block to your property's availability:

  1. Log into your Holidu Host account with your credentials
  2. Navigate to the Calendar section located at the top of your dashboard
  3. Look for the Availability area on the right side and click the Block button
  4. Choose between two options:
    • Manual Booking - for personal stays or private use
    • Date Block - to simply block the dates without additional details
  5. Select your dates by clicking the start date, then clicking the end date you want to block
  6. Click Confirm dates on the right side of your screen
  7. Fill in any required information in the pop-up form that appears
  8. Click Save to apply the changes to your calendar

Example Scenario

If you're planning personal time at your property for the upcoming week, you could add a manual calendar block from Monday to Friday. This prevents guests from booking those dates while you're using the property, ensuring there are no scheduling conflicts.

How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block

If you need to remove a previously added calendar block, follow these simple steps:

  1. Access your Holidu Host account and navigate to the Calendar section
  2. Find the specific blocked dates you want to remove
  3. Click on the blocked dates to open the options menu
  4. Select Remove Block from the menu that appears
  5. Confirm your action if prompted
  6. Save the changes to update your calendar

Important Considerations for Calendar Management

To help you manage your property effectively, keep these points in mind:

  • Keeping your calendar updated prevents double bookings and helps maximize your occupancy rates
  • There is currently no automated way to set an opening or closing for bookings based on lead time (for example, after 9, 12, or 18 months). To control availability beyond a certain timeframe, manually block or unblock the relevant dates
  • If you require at least one day to clean your property before a new guest checks in, block that date as soon as possible. Currently, this cannot be done automatically through the system
  • Consider opting out of price campaigns and setting prices only for periods where you wish to accept bookings for more granular control
  • Periodically review and adjust your calendar blocks to capture every possible booking opportunity
