How to Add a Manual Calendar Block
Adding a manual calendar block allows you to prevent bookings during specific dates when your property is unavailable. Follow these steps to add a block:
- Log into your Holidu Host account and navigate to the Calendar section from your dashboard.
- Locate the Availability area on the right side of your calendar.
- Click the Block button to begin creating a new calendar block.
- Select your block type:
- Manual Booking - Use this option for personal stays or when you need to include additional details
- Date Block - Use this option to simply block dates without extra information
- Click on your calendar to select the start date of your block.
- Click again to select the end date you want to block.
- Review the selected dates on the right side and click Confirm dates.
- Fill in any required information in the pop-up form that appears.
- Click Save to apply the block to your calendar.
Your calendar block is now active, and guests will not be able to book these dates on your property.
How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block
If you need to remove a calendar block and make those dates available for bookings again, follow these steps:
- Log into your Holidu Host account and go to the Calendar section.
- Locate the blocked dates you want to remove on your calendar.
- Click on the blocked date to open the details menu.
- Select Remove Block from the available options.
- Confirm your action when prompted.
- Ensure your changes are saved, so your calendar updates immediately.
The dates are now unblocked and available for guest bookings.
Important Tips for Managing Your Calendar
To optimize your bookings and property management, keep these considerations in mind:
- Prevent double bookings: Keep your calendar updated to ensure you don't accidentally accept bookings for dates when your property is unavailable.
- Plan for turnover time: If you require at least one day to clean your property between guests, manually block that date as soon as possible. Currently, Holidu does not offer automatic turnover blocking.
- Manage long-term availability: There is no automatic system to open or close bookings based on lead time (for example, after 9, 12, or 18 months). To control availability beyond a certain timeframe, manually block or unblock the relevant dates.
- Maximize booking opportunities: Regularly review and adjust your calendar blocks to capture every possible booking opportunity and increase your occupancy rate.
- Price control option: If you want more control over your availability, consider opting out of the copy price campaign and setting prices for only the periods you wish to accept bookings.
