How to Add a Manual Calendar Block

Adding manual calendar blocks allows you to block dates when your property is unavailable or when you need personal time at the property.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Log into your Holidu Host account using your credentials
  2. Navigate to the Calendar section from your dashboard
  3. In the Availability area, click the Block button
  4. Choose the type of block you need:
    • Manual Booking for personal stays or specific circumstances
    • Date Block to simply block dates without additional details
  5. Select your dates by clicking the start date first, then the end date you want to block
  6. Click Confirm dates on the right side of your screen
  7. Fill in any required information in the pop-up form that appears
  8. Click Save to apply the changes to your calendar

How to Delete a Manual Calendar Block

You can remove calendar blocks at any time to make your dates available for booking again.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Log into your Holidu Host account and go to the Calendar section
  2. Find the blocked dates you want to remove and click on them
  3. Select Remove Block from the menu that appears
  4. Confirm your action if prompted
  5. Save changes to update your calendar

Important Considerations

  • Keep your calendar updated regularly to prevent double bookings and maximize occupancy rates
  • Currently, there is no automated system to open or close bookings based on lead time (such as after 9, 12, or 18 months). You will need to manually block or unblock relevant dates to control availability beyond a certain timeframe
  • If you want more control over pricing and availability, consider opting out of the copy price campaign and setting prices for only the periods you wish to accept bookings
  • Block dates as soon as possible when you need at least one day to clean the property between guests, as automatic cleaning buffers are not currently available
  • If you do not want guests to check in on the same day as a previous checkout, manually block that date immediately
  • Review and adjust your calendar blocks periodically to capture every possible booking opportunity
