With Holidu's Flexible Stays feature, you can maximize your earnings by filling gaps between bookings. These gaps, shown in purple on your calendar, are nights that wouldn't usually be bookable due to minimum stay rules or fixed check-in/out days. By enabling Flexible Stays, you make these nights bookable without affecting your overall availability. It's a simple way to get more reservations and increase your revenue.

Understanding Flexible Stays

Calendar gaps are periods between confirmed bookings where your current settings prevent guests from making reservations. With Flexible Stays activated, you can open these gaps to short-term bookings with customizable minimum stay requirements and dynamic pricing. This feature is particularly valuable during peak seasons when short-stay demand is high—over 20% of peak season searches are for stays shorter than your standard minimum.

How to Activate Flexible Stays

First, log in to your Holidu account and select the property you want to update. You can configure these settings from either the Discounts section or the Calendar section. The outcome will be the same.

From the Discounts Section

  1. Go to "Configuration" on the left-hand side, scroll down and click on "Discounts".
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will find the Flexible Stays section and click on "Configure".
  3. Choose between 1, 2 or 3 nights minimum stay for the gap period and increase the price per night up to 50% over the currently configured price.
  4. Click on "Activate" to confirm the configuration.

For now, activating Flexible Stays applies to all gap nights that match your settings. You can still manually block any dates you don't want to open by using your calendar's blocking feature.

Do guests see the purple gaps?

No. The purple gaps are only visible to you to highlight where bookings are being missed. Guests see the calendar as it appears on your listing, with available and unavailable dates clearly marked.

Can I change the setting later?

Yes. You can update or disable Flexible Stays at any time from the same menu where you activated it. Changes take effect immediately and won't affect existing bookings.

Can I set different prices for Flexible Stays?

Yes. When configuring Flexible Stays, you can increase the price per night up to 50% over your currently configured base price. This allows you to maximize revenue from gap-filling bookings during peak demand periods.
