Holidu's Description Generator writes a clear, well-structured property description for you in a few clicks, in eight languages. This guide explains how to generate, edit, and update your property description, including how to handle a multi-unit property.

To Get Started

To generate your description, open the Title & Description section in your Holidu Homes account, complete your Amenities, and click Generate. The tool builds the text from the information in your listing.

1. Log in to the Holidu Homes website or app and access your property.

2. Click on Title & Description. Note: This option only appears once you have completed the Amenities section and some of the information in General Information.

3. Make sure the Amenities section is complete and accurate. The Description Generator uses this information to build your text, so it's important that all relevant features and services are selected.

4. In the Description Generator, you can let the tool create a description automatically, or select "Provide your own text" to submit your own version. Our system will adapt this input to meet platform requirements.

   

5. Use the sections Essential details for guests and Other details to add any extra information you would like included.

   

6. When everything is ready, click Generate at the bottom right of the page. Your description will be created.

7. You can view the result in other available languages by using the dropdown menu above the text.

   

8. Once generated, you can:

   1. Accept and use the suggested description
   2. Regenerate a new version
   3. Edit the description
   4. Leave feedback so we can keep improving the generator

Note for Booking.com listings: The "Info" section displayed on Booking.com is automatically generated by the platform based on the active facilities and features configured in your listing. As a result, Holidu does not have direct control over the content shown in this section.

If You Manage a Multi-Unit Property

If you manage several units under one property, generate the main description for the entire property first, then create a separate description for each unit.

1. Go to Global configuration > Global title & description and generate the main text for the entire property.
2. Then, go to each individual unit via Units > Unit title & description, and generate their respective descriptions one by one.

Making Edits to the Description

You can edit any generated description to correct details, add specifics, or match your own style. Your changes can apply to the current language only or to all translated versions.

1. Click Edit at the bottom right of the description.
2. Modify the content as needed. You can correct typos, update amenities, or include more specific details.
3. Choose whether to apply your edits to:
   1. Only the current language, or
   2. All translated versions (recommended for important updates such as check-in times, pool availability, or parking).

Updating an Existing Description

If your property already has a description, you can edit it directly in Title and Description or generate a new version after updating your Amenities. Comparing the new version with the current one lets you decide which to keep.

1. Go to your property page.
2. Update the Amenities section with any new or changed services and features.
3. Navigate to the Description section.
4. Click on "Generate new description".
5. Add or adjust any relevant details in the available fields.
6. Click Generate to create a new description.
7. Compare it to the current one and click Use new description if you would like to replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why can't I just use my own text?

Holidu generates descriptions structured for visibility and accuracy across the booking channels we publish to. This allows us to provide translations into eight languages, follow the formatting and content guidelines of distribution channels, and support the discoverability of your listing. If you want to use your own description, click on "Edit" after the Holidu description is generated and add the exact text you want. Our tool will adjust it to comply with the rules of distribution channels.

Can I personalize the description?

Yes. You can adjust and personalize your description at any time by clicking Edit and modifying the text.

What if the text is incorrect?

You can edit or regenerate the description at any time. Make sure the Amenities section is up to date, as it is the foundation for the text generation.
