How the Holidu Rating System Works

At Holidu, we value your feedback. Your reviews help fellow guests make informed decisions and help us improve the holiday experiences we offer. Here's everything you need to know about leaving a review on Holidu.

  • Guests can rate their overall stay on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 = lowest, 5 = highest)
  • The overall property rating is calculated by averaging all individual scores submitted
  • You can also provide subscores for specific categories such as location, cleanliness, description accuracy, and value for money
  • Additional comments about your stay or travel type (e.g., family, couple, solo) are welcome

Who Can Leave a Review?

Can I leave a review on Holidu?

Only guests who booked and completed a stay via Holidu can leave a review. You have the option to submit your review anonymously or with your first name and the first initial of your last name. If you booked through a partner website, their review terms and conditions will apply instead.

How can I edit or delete my review?

To edit or delete a review you submitted through Holidu, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.

What Reviews Do We Display?

Which reviews appear on property pages?

We show reviews from both Holidu guests and trusted partner websites to give you the full picture when making your decision. You may see individual reviews with written text and scores, aggregated ratings compiled from multiple guests, and additional reviewer information like travel party type or country of origin.

How are reviews sorted?

  • Date of booking
  • Whether text is included
  • Other filters such as guest type or rating score may be available

Why don't I see all reviews for a property?

For fairness, negative reviews below a certain score are only displayed if a property has at least two reviews in total.

Review Compliance Standards

We want all reviews to be genuine, respectful, and helpful. Your honest opinion matters—whether positive or negative. However, all reviews must meet our compliance standards.

What is not allowed in reviews?

  • References to illegal activity
  • Politically or religiously sensitive remarks
  • Promotional content or external links
  • Personal details such as emails, phone numbers, or full names
  • Profanity, hate speech, threats, or violent content
  • Fake or spam content
  • Impersonation of other guests or hosts
  • Reviews written by hosts or reviews that have been incentivized

What kind of reviews do we encourage?

Translations and Accuracy

Are reviews translated into other languages?

Reviews may be automatically translated using DeepL to make them accessible to a wider audience. However, Holidu and DeepL do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of these translations. If you notice a translation error, please contact our Customer Service team.

Can I write a review before I complete my stay?

No, you can only submit a review after you have completed your booking and stay at the property through Holidu.

What if a review violates our guidelines?

Is my personal information protected when I leave a review?
