Ky Dam Beach is another nice beach area around the lake, perfect for a family beach day. Pisgah Point Backcountry Area has a large beach area with wide shores.

One of the best ways to explore the lake is by boat. You can rent a boat from a variety of rental companies around the lake, including Green Turtle Bay Boat Rentals and Kenlake Marina. Get a pontoon boat and take the family out on the water for the day!

The park encompasses a strip of land that sits between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley and is home to lush forested areas, beaches, walking trails, and more! This 2,000-acre state park observes the Battle of Johnsonville State Historic Park which was fought during the Civil War in 1864. Stroll through the grounds of the park and visit historic artifacts around the paths. There are several walking trails here you can enjoy.

Situated on Birdsong Marina in Camden is the only freshwater pearl culturing farm in the USA. Typically, pearls are found naturally growing inside of mussels in bodies of saltwater, however, the waters of the Tennessee River have been able to produce some too with the help of this farm. Do a tour of the grounds and explore different exhibits to learn all about how it’s done here! You can even purchase some at the gift shop on the way out.
