Vacation Rentals on the Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is one of Spain's most popular holiday regions and offers a correspondingly wide range of accommodation in all price ranges. You will find it in your search for an idyllically situated vacation rental or a cosy holiday apartment, primarily in the large coastal towns of Calpe, Altea, Moraira, Jávea, Benidorm, Torrejeva, Benissa, Benitachell and Guadamar del Segura. You will live in the picturesque centres of the most historical towns, from where you can reach the beach, the restaurants and the cultural sights within a few minutes walking distance.

Alternatively, you can move into a vacation rental in the shade of pine groves in the hills above the villages. The traditional whitewashed houses offer space for the whole family and extras such as a private pool and a sun terrace with sea views. Thanks to the often enclosed plots of land, a vacation rental away from the centre is also ideal for a holiday with a dog.

The magnet of the Costa Blanca are the almost endless beaches, which attract with fine sand and a multiplicity of flat bathing places. But there is also something for young and old away from the bathing bays. While water parks such as the Aquopolis Park in Torrevieja are particularly popular with water rats, animal lovers can look forward to exciting visits to the Mundomar Animal Park in Benidorm, the Rio Safari Safari Safari Park in Elche and the Terra Natura Nature Park. Other highlights include the parrot garden "Jardin del Papgayo", a harbour tour in Cartagena and a visit to the mysterious stalactite caves at Vall d'Uixó.

Due to the favourable geographical location, a holiday on the Costa Blanca is in principle very recommendable throughout the year. While cultural tourists feel comfortable from January to December thanks to mild temperatures and a minimum of five hours of sunshine per day on average, active holidaymakers use the months of March to November for extensive hikes and mountain bike tours in the hinterland. Bath vacationers should book their vacation home at the Costa Blanca for the period from June to October, when the Mediterranean Sea reaches pleasant water temperatures beyond the 20 degree mark.

The starting signal for the event programme will already be given on 5 January, when the arrival of the three kings will be celebrated by boat in the coastal towns. We continue with the traditional carnival in February, the town festival in Castelló de la Plana in March and the "Fiestas Mayores Santisima Sangre" in July. However, the region is world-famous above all for the mystery play "Misteri d'Elx" and the "Tomatina", the tomato battle of Bunyol in August, in the context of which tens of thousands wade ankle-deep through tomato mud in the old town. The programme is rounded off by the "Fiera de Septiembre" in Murcia in September.

Those who are looking for a very impressive nature experience should put on their hiking boots at the Costa Blanca, as just south of the centre of Peñíscola, the "Serra d'Irta" starts as one of the most beautiful hiking areas of the whole Iberian Peninsula. In addition to tours along the coast, there are also challenging climbs to the peaks of the region, which promise a breathtaking panorama.

From a culinary point of view, a holiday on the Costa Blanca offers one thing above all else: a full seafood holiday. You should try the rice dish "arròs a banda" cooked in fish stock, the grilled gambas, the freshly prepared paella and the fish stew "cruet de peix", which is mainly served in the Xábia region.

Alicante is the cultural capital of the Costa Blanca and, with its numerous museums and historical monuments, is one of the region's attractions. A visit to the "Castillo de Santa Barbara", the Santa Faz Monastery and the Archaeological Museum is highly recommended.

Friends of strong drops can look forward to a glass of the regionally typical aniseed schnapps at the Costa Blanca. The brandy made from aromatic anise and star anise is often served as a diluted long drink for hot days.

What would be in family vacation without a visit to the theme park? The amusement park "Terra Mitica" in Benidorm offers fun for the whole family thanks to its varied shows and rides. The highlight of the visit is a ride on a 36-metre-high wooden roller coaster with the characteristic name "Magnus Colossus".
