This is by far the most popular beach on the island, and for good reason! It’s also been ranked among the best beaches in the Americas and in the Caribbean. The 1.5-mile long crescent-shaped stretch of perfect powdery-white sand is breathtakingly beautiful, and perfect for a long stroll along the water’s edge. The sea is a vibrant shade of turquoise and is perfect for swimming. Sunbathe on the sand, splash around in the water, or find a shady spot to relax under a palm tree.

This pebble beach is located on the northwest side of the island. Here you can enjoy crystal clear blue waters which are perfect for swimming. The scenery is spectacular here, and this is a popular place for sea turtle sightings! Bring your snorkel gear along to see all kinds of colorful fish and sea life in the coral reefs here.

Brava Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island thanks to its hard-to-reach nature. The undeveloped beach is surrounded by dense forests and boasts a wide shore of soft white sands. You’ll have to hike along a well-marked path through a jungly area for 20-30 minutes to reach Brava Beach. Keep in mind, there are no food vendors here, so you’ll need to bring water and snacks along with you.

Culebra was once used as a military area where soldiers performed a vast number of training exercises. One of the most iconic relics from this period is a massive tank that sits on the sandy shores of Flamenco Beach. To find the tank, start at the main parking lot area of the beach and walk 10-15 minutes west along the sandy shores. You can’t miss it!

Renting a car is highly recommended to fully explore the island, since many points of interest are quite spread apart from each other. However, many points of interest are just a short bike ride away from each other. Rent bikes and explore the island, hopping around to different beaches and grabbing a bite to eat at the restaurants in town.

Snorkeling is popular in certain places around the island because of the excellent marine life. Rent some snorkel gear in town and head to Melones Beach, which is part of the Luis Pena Channel Nature Reserve. You can drive right up to the beach and easily swim to the nearby reefs. Carlos Rosario Beach is another one of the best beaches to snorkel at. There’s a small hike through the trail of the Flamenco Beach parking lot to reach the beach, but the magnificent corals and marine life here makes it all worth it!

This funky, colorful restaurant is one of the best and oldest eateries on the island. The fun establishment offers exceptional service and even better food. Order margaritas and enjoy mouthwatering tacos and a variety of other Mexican dishes. Be sure to try the fish tacos, they’re a popular favorite!
