Beckside is an ideally situated cottage in a delightful, quiet location just a few short minutes from the centre of Ambleside.
Offering elevated views over surrounding fells in the heart of the Lake District National Park, this family-friendly retreat boasts excellent off-road parking for two cars, making it an ideal getaway for families or groups of friends. In only a few minutes (downhill) walk you find yourself in the centre of Ambleside, spoilt for choice with an array of boutique shops, bars, restaurants, attractions and 3 cinemas, though please be aware it is uphill back up to the property. A short walk will take you to Waterhead on Lake Windermere where you can hire a boat, enjoy a selection of lake cruises or just sit and admire the scenery with a picnic. The property is accessed via a pathway through a lovely, private front garden/patio area, upon entering the single-storey abode via two steps, you will be greeted by a spacious kitchen/diner, well-equipped with all the essentials for a self-catering stay. In addition, there is a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for those longer stays. The heart of the home is undoubtedly the sitting room, boasting a Smart TV and a warming wood burning stove, ideal for those intimate nights in, from here, views out to a patio area can be enjoyed, providing a calming backdrop for your stay. For a quiet moment to yourself, retreat to the conservatory with a good book and a cup of tea, whilst admiring the surrounding views. When the day draws to a close, find three well-presented bedrooms, each boasting delightful views out to the countryside and the summit of Todd Crag, part of Loughrigg Fell. Choose from a super king-size master bedroom, a king-size, and a twin room, all promising a rejuvenating night's sleep. Serving the bedrooms are two convenient bathrooms; one with a bath, shower-over, basin, heated towel rail and WC, and another with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, offering flexibility to suit your group's needs. Step outside to the enclosed garden, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on a ‘sun trap’ patio or simply sit back and soak up the serene surroundings. The cottage enjoys access to a green/play area (with seating) in front of the property although not enclosed so requiring supervision for younger children. A variety of walking routes can be found from the door, including Fairfield Horseshoe, Wansfell and Loughrigg or easier valley rambles for a more leisurely stroll, all without the need to use the car. When you're ready to explore further, consider a visit to the National Trust - Wray, a castle with impressive Gothic Revival interiors and enchanting gardens, alternatively, catch a lake cruise from nearby Waterhead down to Bowness-on- Windermere or take a trip to Rydal Water and Cave, offering unforgettable views and adventure in each direction. Rest assured, Beckside is perfectly positioned to offer a unique blend of relaxation and outdoor action, an ideal comfortable base for a memorable Lake District getaway.
