Spacious mountain cabin in scenic surroundings by Lauvåstjernet in Holtaheia.
The space Welcome to a traditional and charming cabin in beautiful Holtaheia! This is the perfect cabin for anyone who wants to experience genuine mountain cabin atmosphere in calm and scenic surroundings.
Here you can unwind, enjoy the silence, and get close to nature.
The cabin has a classic mountain-cabin feel, with rustic details like pine floors, log beams, and wooden paneling.
In recent years, it has been upgraded with a modern kitchen, refrigerator, vacuum toilet, wireless internet, and a cozy wood stove, so you get a comfortable and pleasant stay without losing its authentic cabin charm.
Please note there is no piped water or mains electricity.
Water is only available from the bathroom tap, and the electrical system is mainly a 12‑volt system, with one extra 230‑volt socket in the kitchen.
The cooker and oven are gas-powered.
On the ground floor you’ll find an entrance hall, toilet, bathroom, four bedrooms, and a spacious living room with an open kitchen.
Upstairs is a large loft/lounge/play area with a queen‑size double bed. From here it’s a short walk to Lauvåstjernet and Lauvåsvatnet.
You can swim in both lakes, and there are three fishing rods and some lures hung on the cabin wall.
A small boat (Pioner 8) is available by Lauvåsvatnet.
Remember to ask for use when booking.
In Holtaheia there are several marked hiking trails, and directly outside the cabin door runs a marked trail to Midtknuten.
Trailheads for Preikestolen and Skomakarnibba are 30 km and 50 km away respectively.
Welcome to the mountains! Guest access Guests have access to all rooms in the cabin, the terrace, and the outdoor area.
In addition, it is possible to fish and swim in both Lauvåstjernet and Lauvåsvatnet.
Other things to note Parts of the road to the cabin pass through pasture land, where you may encounter sheep and cattle.
Please show consideration for the animals, and close the gate again if it was closed when you arrived.
The final 2.2 kilometres of the road to the cabin is a narrow, uneven gravel track.
You can park at the public parking lot in Takli, or unlock the barrier (a chain with padlock) to drive to the parking place about 150 metres from the cabin.
Be aware that mobile coverage at the cabin is poor, so connect to the cabin’s Wi‑Fi network upon arrival to stay in contact with the outside world.
The electrical system is primarily 12 volts, intended only for lighting.
There is a “charging station” for mobile phones, laptops, wireless speakers or similar in the utility cupboard in the inner entrance.
There is one double 230‑volt socket in the kitchen, which must not exceed a load of 800 W. The stove and oven are gas‑powered.
Read the user manual carefully, and disconnect the gas bottle when not in use. You can collect water from the creek near the cabin, from the outdoor tap by the terrace, or from the faucet in the bathroom.
The water should run through the storage tank with a purification filter before being used as drinking water.
If you wish to shower, heat water in a pot on the wood stove or gas cooker, and pour it into the plastic bucket in the bathroom.
If you cause damage to the property during your stay, you may be required to pay according to YourRentals’s property damage policy.
