The listed former signalman's post WP 61 is situated in a secluded location directly on the Black Forest Railway near Triberg-Gremmelsbach.
Built in 1876, the house lost its original function in the 1970s and was later faithfully restored.
The 80 sqm building offers up to six guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in railway history: the cosy parlour with tiled stove, the bathroom with shower and wood-fired bath heater, an additional WC, three bedrooms with wood and electric stoves, and the kitchen with wood stove, together with an old toy train and other railway relics, create a unique historical atmosphere.
In the quiet garden, surrounded by forest, you can barbecue while watching the passing trains during the day. Dogs are allowed, but events are not. You will experience an authentic historical atmosphere without modern standards.
Mobile phone reception is limited.
Amenities include a washing machine, a French press coffee maker, a kettle, a double electric hotplate, a fridge with freezer compartment, a world receiver, and numerous books.
Firewood is provided in sufficient quantities. Train traffic pauses from about 11:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. You park at the church square in Gremmelsbach; the last 600 metres lead on foot through the forest, including a steep 100-metre section.
Two handcarts are available for transporting luggage, and backpacks are recommended.
For safety reasons, the railway tracks must not be crossed.
Smoking is not permitted in the house.
