The house is in an excellent location, close to the Convento da Orada and the Cromeleque de Xerez, a magical place not to be missed, full of history.
Monsaraz is a medieval hilltop village in the Alentejo region of Portugal, situated close to the Spanish border. Known for its impressive well-preserved castle, Monsaraz offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Alqueva Reservoir. The well-preserved historical buildings and traditional Alentejo architecture, with whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets, add to its charm.
Located on the banks of the Alqueva Reservoir, one of Europe's largest artificial lakes, Monsaraz provides ample opportunities for water sports, fishing, and leisurely boat trips that can take you to the incredible Ilha Dourada. The river beach of Monsaraz is just a 2-minute drive away.
You can also venture out for a hot air balloon flight, a romantic horse ride or a more adrenaline-fuelled ride in a TT.
The surrounding area is ideal for hiking and bird-watching, characterized by rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards, and cork oak forests, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful rural setting.
