Shanklin Manor is a spacious duplex two bedroom apartment set in the town’s prestigious manor house surrounded by parkland.
Dating back to the Doomsday Book, the old manor house has been a farm and home to the lords of the manor over the years and after being purchase by the council, a hotel for the underprivileged then a luxury hotel. It has now been extensively renovated and restored to bring it back to its former glory, as well as meet the demands of the modern world.
There are two large bedrooms, one a double bedroom with en-suite and the second twin bedroom, as well as a family bathroom, all on the first floor. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. All of the bedrooms and living area benefit from parkland and woodland views, as well as views across farmland. The living area on the ground floor is spacious and open plan, with separate seating area with leather sofas and a home cinema and music system with LCD TV, DVD/CD player, Freeview, mobile/tablet jack and radio tuner, with speakers and controls in all bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a dining area and kitchen. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave, all with a granite work surface and kitchen lighting.
Alongside the gardens, through a private gate is picturesque parkland and Shanklin Cricket Club, where you can enjoy a summer’s afternoon watching the action, as well as the Big Meade park surrounding the manor, with open grassland, a duck pond and children’s play area. Finally, the historic St Blasius’ Church can be found at the entrance to Shanklin Manor, which was the former church to the manor and dates back to 12th century.
Just five minutes walk away is the Old Village, with the famous thatched cottages and a selection of local shops, pubs and restaurants, and the main town centre following afterwards. Finally, it is just five minutes walk from the cliff top and Esplanade with its sandy beaches.
For larger families, The Priory, sleeping 4, and Highlands, a selection of 5 apartments sleeping 3 to 5 each, are close-by, enabling large families to holiday together.

We found the cottage to be just as described. The cottage is well located to get onto all major roads of the island. Located close but outside of Shanklin, giving access to all of the conveniences in the village, after a very short and pleasant walk.\r\nThe area is extremely quite, with plenty of pl...

Lovely location with Shanklin village a short walk away but a peaceful pretty setting. Accommodation is modern, comfortable clean and has plenty of room. Ample parking. Lots of very different walking routes with plenty of tea rooms and cafes along some routes.
