The Birches is a beautiful, detached property with stone features, resting a few minutes from the centre of the town of Windermere and offering splendid accommodation for a family or a group of friends looking to explore the many wonders of the Lake District and Cumbria. Finished to a high eco standard which includes each room having its own individually controlled heating sensors, you will be charmed by the care that has been taken to create an air of opulence throughout this property, beginning in the open-plan living space, a fantastic social hub with a light and airy atmosphere. Flick on the kettle in the contemporary kitchen and make the most of the many home-from-home amenities available, cooking up a storm to be served at the dining table, or for a more informal setting, the breakfast bar. In the warmer months, throw open the bifold doors and enjoy an alfresco affair on the patio. Afterwards, retire to the charming sitting area with two large L-shaped sofas, Smart TV and the added ambience of an electric fire, ideal for a movie marathon using the included Disney Plus or Netflix accounts. Windermere has an abundance of water sports facilities with access to Lake Windermere, and guests can also try out wild swimming or take a boat cruise along the lake. Windermere is close to many other wonderful villages, including Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside. Visit the Ambleside Roman Fort, or head out into the stunning scenery right on your doorstep and take a walk through one of the many sites, including Orrest Head Viewpoint. Visit many of the other lakes, including Coniston Water, or hike or mountain bike the trails through The Old Man of Coniston, Scafell Pike, Red Screes, and birdwatching at The RSPB at Haweswater. The Birches consists of an open-plan living space with kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, wine cooler, dining seating for eight and a sitting area with Smart TV and electric fire. There is also a conservatory snug with Smart TV and a cloakroom. The bedrooms each have a TV and en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, and include three king-size, a twin zip/link (can be set up as a king-size on request) and a second-floor king-size. Outside there is an enclosed patio with furniture and off-road parking for four cars. Within 0.7 miles or less you will find a shop, a pub and a lake, and please note this is a smoke-free property. Please Note: The onsite Glamping Pod to the rear of the house is used by the owners so they can maintain the garden. However, the owners do not use this when guests are staying.
