Nestled on the banks of the River Avon, alongside the medieval King Johns bridge, rests this Grade II listed terraced cottage, Runnymede.
Idyllically situated in a prime position on the edge of Tewkesbury town centre and within easy reach of a host of local amenities, Runnymede makes for the perfect base for a romantic getaway.
Runnymede is a superb dog-friendly dwelling, boasting exposed beams and a fantastic feature fireplace; it is perfect for a couple looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and retreat to this idyllic setting.
Be welcomed into the spacious, yet homely sitting room, where you can look forward to snuggling up with your significant other on the generous leather sofa and enjoying your favourite film on the Smart TV, as the electric fire adds added warmth nearby.

Completing the ground-floor is a cloakroom for your convenience, perfect for a quick freshen up before heading out! As your eyes grow heavy, climb the stairs to the first-floor where you can catch your rest in the well-presented king-size bedroom, tastefully decorated using William Morris interiors to celebrate the 1800 period in history, homing a sumptuous mattress nestled upon a timeless brass bedstead with Egyptian cotton sheets and hotel quality linen; a lovely touch of elegance.
In the morning, kick-start your day with a refreshing rinse in the en-suite shower room, wrapping up in the fluffy Egyptian cotton towels to keep toasty, before heading downstairs to enjoy a hearty breakfast in the sunroom, overlooking the wonderful terraced garden as you discuss plans for an evening barbecue to make the most of the good weather.
Explore the local town, where you will find a wealth of activities and amenities right on your doorstep! Take a stroll down the quaint alleys, home to a fabulous selection of antique stores, board a river cruise and watch the world go by as you sail alongside the tranquil waters, and after working up an appetite, take a step back in time with a visit to the oldest pub in Gloucestershire, The Black Bear, dating back to 1308.
A visit to the iconic Roses Theatre promises fun for all ages, and if you time it right, you might even catch the annual pantomime! Brush up on the town’s history at the Tewkesbury Museum or the Heritage Centre or pay a visit to the stunning medieval Tewkesbury Abbey, famed for its Norman tower which is the highest in England.
Walk in the footsteps of former soldiers at the Tewkesbury Battlefield, where you can expect battle re-enactments, a market and food and drink stalls.
Be sure to make a stop at Merlin’s Meadow, where your furry friend can enjoy roaming over 16 acres of secure land, a great pit-stop during a busy day.
Next stop is the town of Cheltenham, famed for its remarkable racecourse that hosts the Cheltenham Festival annually which consists of four days of horse-jump racing, a fantastic day out to be enjoyed by all! The town also boasts the fantastic Wilson Museum, where you can peruse fine art and exhibitions, the Holst Victorian House, the 19th-century home of the famous composer, Gustav Holst and incredible Victorian Everyman Theatre that can seat up to 658 people and frequently hosts live performances.

We have just spent a week in this delightful cottage with our two cocker spaniels. The cottage is spotless and well equipped. The bed is comfortable.
