Grange-over-Sands 1.5 miles.
This marvellous semi-detached cottage, located overlooking the shore, has been styled to complement the views, natural light, and location in the quiet village of Kents Bank near the Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands.
Thoughtfully and tastefully styled throughout, the spacious, light rooms make use of the stunning estuary views and have been carefully presented to ensure maximum enjoyment for a family of four.
Step into the well-equipped kitchen and see the thoughtfully designed doors that house the washer/dryer and freezer or step outside and enjoy the views from the patio with a morning coffee.
On entering the generous open plan sitting and dining room, you will see that the seating area and gas stove have been positioned for maximum appreciation of the views so you can watch the tide cover the estuary, view the birds or even the stars at night.
The high vaulted ceiling adds to the feeling of space and design with the stunning floor-to-ceiling slate wall.
Rest your head in a delightful mezzanine king-size, a space boasting character with beams, along with sloped ceilings that host large skylight windows; or continue to the well-presented family room with both a double and single bed to coincide with your sleeping arrangements.
The ground-floor shower room has a walk-in shower and twin basins, and you can even see the shore views here too if you desire; an additional cloakroom can be found upstairs, for extra convenience. Grange-over-Sands has a traffic-free promenade to enjoy the shore and botanical gardens, along with cafés, pubs, a golf club and even a chocolatier shop! Kent Bank’s train station is a short walk away so you can enjoy a journey up the west coast or pop across to the neighbouring Arnside, across the estuary, which is a short distance across the viaduct.
Close by, the attractive village of Cartmel, with its ancient 12th century priory and the UK’s smallest racecourse, is known as a gastro village with the renowned L’Enclume restaurant and a selection of lovely pubs; it is also the home of the famous sticky toffee pudding which can be purchased from its artisan shop.
Historical houses are also close-by, including Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall with its world-class topiary gardens; all have superb grounds and tempting treats in their cafés.
This is a perfect area for walkers and from the centre of Grange-over-Sands you can walk up Hampsfell and see a stunning, panoramic vista of Morecambe Bay in Lancashire, the wind farms of Barrow and the Lakeland hills.
You aren’t far from Newby Bridge, the southern tip of Windermere, where you can enjoy water cruises to Ambleside and Bowness.
There is so much to see and do from this lovely cottage and it is the ideal place to stay, relax and explore this beautiful area.
