Set in an endearing location in the rural Derbyshire Dales is this charming one-bedroom cottage, an ideal romantic retreat for a couple looking to explore the Peak District National Park.
Archway Cottage rests off the main road of Crich village and down a quieter lane, a few steps bring you to the gated entrance of your very own enclosed courtyard, a lovely spot to dine alfresco on a summer's day.
There's also handy bike storage and a hose which you can use to wash your furry friends after exploring muddy peaks in the area.
Step into the property through large bi-folding doors, storing away your boots and coats in the sun room where you can curl up with a good book on one of the chairs as a gentle breeze enters through the open doorway.
Continue your evening in the open-plan living space, boasting original character through exposed white stone walling, oak beams and a quaint recess window which lets in a cluster of natural light into this snug room.
Snuggle up in front of the woodburning stove on a frosty winter's evening before showing off your best home-cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, and setting the table for an intimate date night over a bottle of wine.
Once the sun has set, withdraw to the generous sized double bedroom with walk in dressing area, decorated with an impressive wildflower wall mural behind the plush French style king size bed, ample storage and a peaceful chair where you can sit with your morning coffee and plan the day ahead.
Serving the bedroom is a contemporary shower room, offering a sleek walk-in shower with a powerful monsoon head and oodles of hot water to best start your day.
Get to know your local area and roam around the pretty village of Crich, finding a local pub, shop, post office, butcher, baker, Indian restaurant and the best fish and chips right on your doorstep, ideal for stocking up on necessities and enjoying a meal out and an evening pint.
The village is home to the fascinating National Tramway Museum and Crich Stand Sherwood Foresters Regiment Memorial, one of the most famous landmarks in Derbyshire, both within a few minutes walk from Archway Cottage.
At over 340 metres above sea level, visitors can take in 360-degree views of the beautiful Derwent Valley and on clear days can pick put 7 surrounding counties.
Whilst the neighbouring village of Cromford houses the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
Spend a day exploring the county towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath and meander around a wealth of amenities including independent shops, supermarkets, trendy restaurants and local pubs, as well as Gulliver’s Kingdom theme park, a great day out for all the family.
The cottage is ideally located for adventurous activities, a scenic drive away from the Heights of Abraham with its unique show caves, water gardens, nature trails and Owl Maze, or venture over to Carsington Water with a thrilling choice of watersports to choose from.
