Resting in an idyllic position in the Epping Forest District of Essex, situated deep in ancient forest, in a Special Area of Conservation is this remarkable holiday base, Baldwin's Hill Cottage.
Owned by the City of London, this historic building was once home to Epping Forest Keepers, but has been transformed into a contemporary-styled holiday home which offers everything couples, groups of friends and families could need to enjoy an escape to Epping Forest.
Park up in your private space and admire the beauty of the grounds; boasting a wildlife garden, specially managed to attract local fauna, with regular visitors including birds, butterflies, fallow and muntjac deer, stag beetles and all manner of other creatures, Seating areas are provided amongst the grass, which in early to mid-summer is waist high and bursting with wild flowers, it's an extremely scenic spot to base your escape.
Enter into the porch with its characterful stained glass windows before making your way in to discover the beautiful sitting room, with a luxurious seating arrangement placed in front of the Smart TV and woodburning stove, it makes a fantastic social spot, with its beautiful botanical wallpaper tying with the theme of the property throughout.
The well-equipped kitchen offers every essential for a self-catered stay, from its designer retro fridge/freezer to its dishwasher and even a washer-dryer, you can find all you could need here.
Enjoy quality time with loved ones within the dining room, a bright and airy spot also sporting tasteful forest-themed wallpaper, this room is of equal delight as a social spot where you can toast to a truly terrific holiday.
Relax each evening in the contemporary shower room, with a spacious walk-in shower room offering a taste of luxury, there's no better way to unwind before heading upstairs via the winding staircase to find the three bedrooms; made up of two double rooms and a single, with 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and each room with ample storage space, you can ensure each guest has a wonderful resting spot.
Outside the wonder continues amongst the wildlife gardens, where you will find a decking with a spectacular bespoke fire pit commissioned by the owner, as well as a barbecue for all your alfresco dining needs; there's no better place to enjoy the birdsong and sounds of the Forest around you.
Take the gate from the property into the beautiful Epping Forest, with scenic walking and cycling routes all around alongside a plethora of outdoor activities including horse riding, orienteering, rambling and golf, it's well-worth exploring.
A secure cycle store is fitted in the garage for visitors bringing their own bikes.
The Lee Valley white water rafting centre is only a little over 5 miles away, easy by cycle or car.
The local town of Loughton is just a walk or short drive away and hosts plenty of pubs and restaurants to enjoy following an afternoon stroll as well as a selection of shops to while away the hours in.
