Found between the bustling town of Loftus and Easington, a short drive away from the majestic landscape of the North Yorkshire National Park is Foulsyke Farm Cottage.
This charming, semi-detached property is the perfect base for families or a last minute break for a group of friends to spend some quality time together and explore all that this part of Yorkshire has to offer.
There are 22 acres to roam in with goats, pigs, chickens and horses, and lots of outdoor space for children to run around in.
Admire the character of the stone-built property before stepping through the stable door and into the kitchen/diner, where the charm of the property is still apparent.
Look forward to catering your own culinary delights within the spacious kitchen, where you can pack a picnic for tomorrow’s adventure or have a special treat bake in the electric oven.
Within the kitchen you will find a washing machine and a dishwasher, as well as a dining space to enjoy your home-cooked meals with all your loved ones around you.
Moving through the property will bring you to the sitting area, where a seating arrangement is positioned in front of a Smart TV and a woodburning stove, offering a relaxing space to unwind after an action-packed day.
Heading up the stairs, you will find three elegantly-appointed bedrooms, comprising of a king-size bedroom and two double bedroom, making an ideal set up for groups of couples, families or friends.Foulsyke Farm has its very own bus stop at the bottom of the lane, the Arriva X4 route can take you south to Whitby 14 miles away or North 18 miles to Middlesbrough.
If you can tear yourself away from this dwelling, head into to nearby town of Loftus, where a whole host of amenities awaits you, including convenience shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways, catering to all needs.
For days out, venture to Saltburn-by-the-Sea to enjoy a traditional day by the seaside, where you can laze on the glorious sands or soak up the views of the sea during a ride on the Saltburn Cliff tramway.
Alternatively, head in the other direction and spend time in the charming seaside village of Staithes where you can walk Yorkshire's cliff top paths or enjoy the delights of rock pooling and fossil hunting on the village’s small beach.
A public footpath runs alongside the farm which leads to The Cleveland Way, less than a mile away.
Where the farm path joins the Cleveland Way is at the top of some of the highest cliffs on the east coast with spectacular views to the north towards Saltburn and the south towards Staithes.
However before you reach the cliffs you will walk past Street House Farm where archaeologists discovered a Neolithic long cairn dating from 3300BC.
The site contains the Saxon Princess bed burial, one of only a dozen known in the UK and certainly the most northernly, as the majority are on the south coast.
Spectacular artefacts were discovered buried with the princess including gold set scallop shaped jewels which are now on permanent display at nearby Kirkleatham Museum.
A scenic car journey along the coastline will take you to the resort town of Whitby which plays to a superb selection of amenities and attractions including the ruined Abbey which overlooks the coast and reached by the famous 199 steps and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum.
Foulsyke Farm Cottage is an outstanding holiday cottage in Yorkshire, that the whole family can enjoy.
