Tigh Fasgaidh is a detached, two-storey property located in Ardelve just over a mile away from the rural village of Dornie.
A couple of minutes’ walk will bring you the pebbled shores of Loch Alsh with views of the mountains and Lochs.
The former croft house offers traditional charm with a seamless blend of modern luxury, ideal for both a family adventure to the Scottish Highlands and a base for the more experienced hill walker.
On entering the property, you will step into the tiled garden room, the perfect spot for kicking off your muddy boots; the garden room provides access to the living room space and the ground floor bedroom.
The ground floor double bedroom with en-suite boasts a modern neutral colour palette with a stunning feature brick wall to highlight the tradition and history of the house.
Also opening from the garden room is the cosy sitting room and dining area.
This features a warming woodburning fireplace with sofas and TV, making this the perfect location for relaxing during the evening; In here, you will also find a dining area with seating for six people.
Leaving the living room you will enter the original hallway from which opens a shower room, (comprising a walk-in shower, basin and WC) the staircase and access to the kitchen.
The property houses a well-equipped kitchen, completed with a contemporary design, perfect for rustling up an evening meal after a day of exploring.
Upstairs continues the traditional cottage feel, with sloping ceilings and charming interiors.
Here you will find a spacious twin bedroom with ample storage and the master bedroom with an impressive en-suite shower room.
The master bedroom has ample room for a travel cot – or two. Outside this quietly located cottage is the property’s own private front and side garden with seating area, in addition to the parking area to the front of property with a detached garage.
Although the property is nestled in a remote area, the local shop and closet pub are within a five-minute drive, or a 15-20 minute walk, with stunning views of the famous Eilean Donan Castle and the splendour of Loch Duich edged by the imposing Kintail mountains.
The area offers several opportunities to enjoy the Scottish Highlands with areas to suit both the experienced climber and hill walker, as well as families. The cottage has a number of local guidebooks.
Aware of the vagaries of the Scottish weather, there are numerous ‘rainy day’ activities on offer locally as well.
If you fancy fishing, be sure to visit Loch Long, a beautiful sea loch and a great photo opportunity as well as a great area for walking.
Tigh Fasgaidh is the perfect base for your escape to the Scottish Highlands.
EPC Rating: Band G
