Stair Cottage is a restored stone-built home offering luxury accommodation in the village of Stair, in the Newlands Valley.
Finished to the most exacting standards, this character cottage has lost none of its country feel during its high-end renovation, making it perfect for a small family or two couples looking to enjoy a luxurious Lake District holiday.
The ground floor allows you to cosy up by the wood burning stove and relax in the inviting furniture while looking out through the patio doors - that is if you can tear yourself away from the stunning open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen section has high-end amenities throughout and a large breakfast island, while light oozes into the beautifully modern furnishings of the dining room area, perfect for the finest of dinners. Upstairs are two sumptuous bedrooms, both with their own TV, with the master benefitting from its own free-standing bath as well as having a luxury en-suite shower room.
The gardens to the property are of a traditional country style, with space to the front and rear. The rear benefits from a small patio area and lawn with an immediate woodland outlook maintaining a relaxing privacy.
Stair is the principal settlement within the stunning Newlands Valley, making it an ideal starting point for a day's walking around the picturesque countryside and also playing host to the Valley's only pub The Swinside Inn, which serves great food and has a lovely open fire.
Just four miles on are the full amenities of the popular tourist town of Keswick. Multiple energetic activities are on offer crossing the range of hills between the Newlands Valley and Derwentwater, or at the nearby Newlands Adventure Centre, while the Newlands Valley is also the inspiration for the Beatrix Potter stories.

Easily the nicest place we have ever stayed. Feasants in the garden, your own beck, 2 amazing baths, the biggest bed we’ve ever seen and everything you could ever need on a week away. Beautiful surroundings, nobody to bother you and easy parking. Feels like you’re at home, not like a rental at all- if we could buy this cottage we would! Thanks for a wonderful stay.
