Triana is a simple neighborhood with a lively market next to the Isabel II arch bridge.
Salmorejo, croquettes and other tapas are served in the stalls and small establishments inside.
On Calle Betis, next to the river, you can find more restaurants, as well as bars and flamenco tablaos.
Around the Centro Cerámica Triana museum there are many shops that offer this type of craft. The Triana neighborhood is one of the main axes of Sevillian culture.
Cradle of singers, dancers, artists and artisans, Triana is a neighborhood of master potters who are concentrated in the vicinity of the Plaza del Altozano, next to the Triana Bridge. The origins of the neighborhood go back in history to the times when the Roman legions established their camp there.
The Almohads built a rudimentary bridge that would unite it with the city, which would later be replaced by the popular Triana Bridge. With a great seafaring tradition that led it to train the sailors who set sail for the Americas, Triana has always lived facing the river, the source of wealth and the basis of its growth, but which would also give it a hard time due to the large floods that caused numerous floods in the area. What to see in Triana In a neighborhood as full of life as Triana it is not necessary to highlight points of interest to visit them, but rather its charm lies in walking through its streets and enjoying its special atmosphere.
Here are the points worth paying attention to: Castillo de San Jorge: Built on an old fortification of Visigothic origin, it currently houses exhibitions on its dark past related to the Inquisition.Triana Market: One of the best ways to take the pulse of the neighborhood is a good morning visit to the food market to enjoy its fruit, meat and vegetable stalls.Calle Betis: Extending along the river with its cheerful and characteristic colored facades, Calle Betis is one of the most emblematic in Seville.Triana Bridge: Joins Triana with the historic center of the city, as well as offering beautiful views of both banks of the Guadalquivir. After a 15-20 minute walk enjoying the streets of Triana you will arrive at the Historic Center of Seville. For many, this historic center makes Seville one of the most beautiful cities in the world and for which the Sevillians are proud of it. Seville can be intuited as a coquettish city and with more than enough reasons to be so since it allows us to travel centuries in history knowing the passage of many civilizations thanks to the traces they have left. What to see in the Old Town In it we will find the Cathedral of Seville, the Real Alcázar, the Plaza de Santa Cruz la Judería, Casa de Pilatos, Basilica de la Macarena, Museum of Fine Arts, and Plaza del Salvador. Indeed, the most outstanding squares in this neighborhood are the Plaza de la Encarnación, the Plaza del Salvador, the Plaza de San Francisco, the Plaza Nueva where the statue of San Fernando is located, the Plaza de la Magdalena and the Plaza del Triunfo. And among the most important shopping streets we have Calle Sierpes, Tetuán O'Donnell-Velázquez, Calle Cuna, Calle Francos (for old and traditional commerce), Calle San Eloy (for many restaurants), and Avenida de la Constitución (which is pedestrian and commercial), and passes by the Archivo de Indias, the Cathedral and the Giralda.
