It’s a great base from which to explore the Western Lakes and the Cumbrian coastline, from the unspoilt wilderness of Ennerdale to the natural beauty of St Bees Head.

Scalelands cottage is on the fringe of the Lake District National Park in a small hamlet between two villages, both approximately 1 mile away, and each offering fast food and convenience stores.

Lovely clean and tidy bungalow. The veiw was amazing. Close to a couple of wainwright's so bagged them on the Saturday morning. Would definitely stay again.

One of the best cottages we have stayed at. Very well equipped, comfortable (espcially the bed) and warm when needed. The smart tv took some puzzling out but the picture was superb. We could have done with the user guide.
