It lies 3 miles west of Carlisle and is a short drive to the Scottish Border, Lake District and Northumberland’s National Park, and is close to the Solway Firth.

An excellent base for those wishing to explore this area.

Location good for walking. Short drive to Carlisle to use trains. Unfortunately the evenings were cold for June and needed to light log fire. A messy job each morning to clean it especially when you have bad knees and struggle to get down to make fire. Tv in lounge very hit and miss for picture.

Lovely cozy cottage in a quiet location. Very well kept accommodation with friendly owners. Our dog loved it too :)Pub just down the road, and easy to get to other places. Lake District only 40 mins away and a good base to explore the Scottish Borders.

Great little cottage. Well equipped,comfy,quiet,warm and dog friendly. There is a pub Drovers Arms a short drive away...we would not walk as much of it has no path. Shops are some drive towards M6. (ASDA) We cooked brekkie and evening meal one-night and the amenities worked really wellOwners delightful and left us lovely home made cream tea Thanks
