Horse riding, quad biking and golf are all available locally and the 7stanes offers world class mountain biking across Dumfries and Galloway, and the Scottish Borders.
Rod hire is available in town for three fishing lochs at the Green Frog Centre on the edge of Moffat, which also has an adventure play park and animal farm.
Edinburgh, Carlisle, Glasgow and the historic castles and abbeys in the borders are within an hour of Moffat.

Been loads of times. Good value for money, very good location. We like the downstairs and upstairs facilities as we take my elderly mum with us.Close to all shops, parking, pubs etc. Located in moffat. Facilities within the cottage are good The owner is friendly and helpful when you ring prior to your stay.

Lovely cottage, stairs are steep that can’t be changed. Lovely comfortable beds. Cottage is spacious which is lovely and set in a good location. Fish shop just along the road serves reasonably priced fish and chips which are gorgeous. Overall good value for money and well worth a visit

We have been to a few cottages and have always had a welcome pack of food . In this case we read in the welcome book that what we used needed to be replaced or tell them what we used.hence we bought our own and there were no logs for the log burner so had to buy wood.also did not know how to work the central heating as there was no instructions
