A traditional 19th century property in the attractive Westmorland village of Askham which runs adjacent to the River Lowther and boasts two pubs.. Ground Floor:

The Laburnums really has been furnished to an excellent standard, and sits in the quiet, charming Cumbrian village of Askham, with Ullswater just a short drive away.
The semi-detached house has been thoughtfully designed, from the large welcoming entrance hall with original 19th century staircase, to the cosy living room with wood burner, and large open plan kitchen/dining room no expense has been spared to provide a luxury retreat to escape and enjoy your holiday in.
The large, private, south-facing enclosed garden, with patio and barbecue area makes the ideal spot to gather with the family to enjoy an al fresco supper as the sun sets.
The attractive village of Askham is centred around two village greens and has a well-stocked shop/off licence which is open seven days a week and two pubs, all within walking distance of the property.
In the summer families can enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool in the village.
Not only does it have a 20 metre pool staffed by lifeguards but there is also a paddling pool, refreshments kiosk and picnicking area.
This location offers easy access to the Lake District through Ullswater and Haweswater, or for the more adventurous to walk on the Helton Fells, enjoy water sports on Ullswater, or explore the beautiful Eden Valley.
Ullswater can be reached by foot, 3 miles over the fells, and once there you can enjoy a scenic walk around the lake or take a trip on one of the cruisers which set sale from Glenridding and Pooley Bridge.
There is also Lowther Birds of Prey Centre and Lowther Castle and Gardens, just a few minutes drive from the house.

have been before the owners delightful and more than helpful :)
the only gripe we have are the leather sofa's not our comfort as we personally found uncomfortable, however apart for the soft furnishing white company so home from home.
would highly reccommend would return in the summer/autumn next time to see the changes as been twice in winter now....

The Laburnums is a lovely house, well equipped and clean with excellent quality bedding. It is in a pretty location with the green at the front with the tree swing and the sheep field to the rear - the kids loved that. Brian was on hand (via mobile) should there be any questions / problem and we felt that this was one of the best self catering places we have stayed at. We hope to return soon.
