Only 5 miles from the historic market town of Barnard Castle, guests must take a trip to the famous Bowes Museum as well as the old castle ruins.
For guests wanting to travel a little further afield, there are excellent links along the A66 and the A1M.
The cathedral city of Durham can be reached within one hour’s drive north, as well as the historic city of York in the opposite direction.
The beautiful fells of the Lake District are just over an hour’s drive west and to the east, guests will find the fabulous beaches and coastline of Whitby and Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
Barnard Castle and Richmond are the closest towns and the nearest pub serving good food and real ale is at Greta Bridge, 1 mile away.

Lovely cottage, great tub, upstairs living accommodation makes the most of the great views. Clean with good equipment.
It's off the beaten track so good for walking, cycling - tracks outside the door! Pub in Barningham is about a 20min walk on an unlit country road but Sunday roast was reasonable....
