Whibberley Cottage is a fabulous picturesque terraced cottage, full of character with exposed beams and a large Derbyshire gritstone fireplace complete with wood burner.
The bedrooms are made up on arrival with crisp hotel quality bed linen, Egyptian cotton bedding and a choice of plump pillows.
The shower room is equipped with a shaver point and there is an ample supply of fluffy towels for all the guests.
Believed to be a former barn conversion dating back to the 1700s, the property is named after the Whibberley family who lived here for the last 200 years.
Located in the picture postcard village of Ashford-in-the-Water, which stands on the banks of the beautiful River Wye in the heart of the Peak District National Park, you are surrounded by spectacular countryside.
Ashford’s bridge is one of the most photographed in Britain and the village houses a beautiful church which holds relics dating back to 1200s.
There are two local pubs serving food, a tea room, a restaurant and a village shop.
Alternatively you could take advantage of the picnic set available in Whibberly Cottage, and head for the hills for a day with nature.
The popular towns of Bakewell, Buxton and Matlock are all easily accessible and have an abundance of amenities and tourist attractions.
Bakewell is home to the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, and Buxton has the superb opera house and diverse architecture.
Chesterfield, with its world famous crooked spire is within easy reach, as are Sheffield and Manchester.
Matlock, with neighbouring Matlock Bath, has the unique cable car to the Heights of Abraham and for outdoor enthusiasts, there is ample walking and cycling available including the traffic free route of the Monsal Trail, which takes you all the way from Bakewell to Buxton.
Nearby Baslow offers renowned places to eat and drink and finally, for those thrill seekers, Britain’s premier theme park, Alton Towers is only approximately 45 minutes away.
