The town, famed for it sailing and fishing history, still retains its olde worlde charm, with cobbled lanes, inns, restaurants, shops, church, promenade and pier.
The island has a good bus network and numerous walking and cycling routes and tourist parking permits can be purchased using PayByPhone from the council.
Guests can walk from the ferry terminus to the property.
Shop and pub 200 yards.
Please note: There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property.
Free WiFi Refuse is collected on Mondays.
Please put out the gull proof sacks before 7am.

We mostly loved staying at Solent Cottage - it's v well located, beautifully decorated, super clean and the kitchen is v well stocked with all the equipment you need for making good meals. Our complaints are that the old fashioned spring mattresses are uncomfortable and the heating is overly complicated and v v difficult to figure out.

My family all loved Solent Cottage, its unbeatable location, gorgeous views and very nice reception rooms. The outdoor patio was really nice as well. Lovely sizeable kitchen to eat in too. It was quiet, had a lovely ambience and we have already booked to stay again.

Solent Cottage is beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable - we loved our stay there! It's situated in the heart of Yarmouth, so it's great for exploring.
The only draw back is the parking. We had to park a good 5 mins walk away... which is a bit of a challenge each day with children and an elderly mother (plus an additional cost).
