The Posthalterhof, built in 1683 by Thurn and Taxis, has been renovated with great attention to detail and offers an extraordinary atmosphere within its old walls.
Antique furniture and modern amenities in the bedrooms, the newly renovated bathrooms, and fully equipped, open-plan kitchens are stylishly combined.
Furthermore, Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with Netflix & Prime, and Alexa devices are available in the dining or living areas. In addition to the ground floor (heritage building), which can be rented for up to 8 people, the attic floor (Castle Maisonette) offers space for up to 6 people.
On the first floor are 4 apartments, ideally suited for 2 people.
The Ahrquelle apartment, approximately 25 sqm, offers a cozy sleeping and living area with a small kitchenette and bathroom.
The Georgstor apartment, approximately 55 sqm, also features a sofa, a large kitchenette, and a large bathroom.
The two newly renovated apartments, Jakobsweg and Eifelsteig, have direct access to their own small terrace with a dining table and grill via a door within the apartment.
The Jakobsweg apartment, approximately 35 sqm, has a studio character with a separate double bed and a large sofa.
The Eifelsteig apartment, approximately 30 sqm, offers large armchairs for relaxation in its cozy sleeping and living area.
Dogs are welcome. Guests of the ground floor have their own terrace with a large table and grill.
For guests of the attic floor, the garden on the first floor with a terrace and a large table with grill is available.
Guests staying in the Ahrquelle or Georgstor apartments can also use the terrace located in the garden with dining tables and a grill. In December 2021, we opened our new sauna landscape for all guests of the Posthalterhof.
In our large garden, there is an approximately 500-year-old vaulted cellar integrated into the rock.
Here, guests can relax in an extraordinary atmosphere in the sauna and whirlpool – for up to 6 people.
In the visually protected outdoor area, guests can listen to music in the covered lounge area with a heat flame and enjoy the magnificent view of Blankenheim Castle.
Use of the wellness area is free of charge and can be booked by our guests for a few hours a day. 2 private parking spaces are located directly next to the Posthalterhof for guests on the ground floor.
Above the garden area, 3 additional private parking spaces are available.
Bicycles and motorcycles can also be safely stored. Further Important Notes: There are a few stairs within the ground floor apartment.
The 4 apartments for 2 people are located on the first floor and are accessible via the old staircase in the hallway or the staircase from the inner courtyard.
The Burg Maisonette holiday apartment is on the 2nd floor and features many exposed beams.
Due to the character and construction of our building, it is not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Directly opposite, you can get fresh rolls, bread, and cakes from the bakery.
The Engel butcher shop, offering Eifel quality, is approximately 200m away and offers their own produced meat and sausage products from Eifel farms.
A pharmacy, 2 banks, a gift shop, a boutique, and a bookstore are located in the village, as well as Patina Antiques.
A supermarket, discount store, and drugstore are reachable by car in 3 minutes.
You can eat excellently at the "Brasserie an der Ahr," which serves French-German cuisine and is located less than 150m from the Posthalterhof.
Landlust offers tarte flambée and salads in a charming atmosphere.
