This award-winning holiday home consists of a loft on the first floor, which is located above the traditional wine cellar. The holiday home is located in the small village of Globeregg in Sausal near Leibnitz in south-east Austria.
The loft has a living and sleeping area and can be heated with infrared heating. The comfortable bed with pocket spring mattress (160x200cm) has room for two people. In the rear area is the kitchenette, with a ceramic hob, a fridge with freezer compartment, a sink and cooking utensils such as crockery and cutlery. A rainwater shower head is installed in the designer bathroom with underfloor heating. Towels and soap are provided. In the basement you will discover the 200-year-old original wine cellar with vaulted ceiling. Take a seat and immerse yourself in the history of this place. Local red and white wine is available for your own consumption for a fee.
The 200-year-old former wine press has won numerous international and local awards for the architectural realisation of a new living concept. The aim of the design was to realise a consistent modern interpretation of traditional building standards. Designed by Yes Architecture, it has succeeded in taking traditional ideas of the original "Kellerstöckl" as a windowless wine press and combining them with the unique structure of a corn silo, one of which stands next to the house. The room layout resembles a traditional farmhouse parlour.
There are inns and local wine taverns in the neighbourhood. Shopping facilities can be found in the village of Gleinstätten, 2 km away. Hiking trails, cycling and horse riding facilities, tennis courts and a fishing area with a lake, grassy beach and water sports facilities are all within a radius of less than 2 km.
You can relax in the garden area. Garden furniture allows you to dine al fresco. You can sunbathe on the deckchairs. The self-picked fruit from the fruit trees and vines is a culinary delight.
