In case of overcrowding, Holidu or the host is entitled to demand additional payment for the respective period of time. The landlord is also entitled to expel the excess persons from the property.
Finca Vejer is an authentic Andalusian finca that has been restored keeping some rustic elements in the old part of the house - such as traditional stone floors with animal footprints, one-metre-thick walls, typical Andalusian double window,, wooden ceilings and small staircases to reach the other floors. The later extensions of the house are also decorated with beautiful Andalusian style details. It’s the ideal accommodation if you’re longing for a peaceful holiday in the countryside, as it is nested in a quiet valley near the mountain village of Cómpeta.
Cómpeta and Torrox Pueblo can be reached in approximately 15 minutes driving (it is necessary to rent a car).
On the steeper parts of the property on which the Finca is located there is a wooden handrail for extra security. Furthermore, it is not recommended to stay here with small children due to the steepness of stairs of the house and of the slopes surrounding the finca, which are covered with agaves and cacti. Finca Vejer is located in a nature reserve and boasts a beautiful view of the Torrox River gorge. The path near the Finca leads to the small mountain village of Acebuchal, previously abandoned, to the Fábrica de la Luz and also to Cómpeta. There is a second gateway to Finca Vejer, situated in the natural park and from which there is a beautiful view over the Torrox River Gorge. In addition, the property's small and beautiful swimming pool is ideal for cooling off on the hottest days, and it’s surrounded by sun loungers for relaxing in the shade. It is very easy to get to the house: just drive from the road that connects Torrox Pueblo and Cómpeta and turn right to follow the dirt road (650m) that leads to Finca Vejer. Depending on the conditions of the road you may have to drive slowly, as after it has rained it is easy to get out of the way and there might also be potholes (although residents repair them on a regular basis). It is enough if you rent a regular car, a Porsche would probably get stuck in the mud because of its low suspension. Through an iron gate you enter the property of this old farm, where there is a swimming pool (recently built) that invites you to bathe in the warm summer days and which is also surrounded by several sun loungers and parasols that invite you to relax during your deserved holidays. The pool measures approximately 7x3m and is between 1.3m and 1.7m deep. There is an old wooden door leading to a large dining room that can be used as a winter garden on colder days. There is a dining table surrounded by comfortable armchairs that invites you to enjoy a delicious meal and chat with your friends or family. If you need it, during the winter there is also a stove at your disposal that creates a cozy atmosphere.
In the old main house you will find the kitchen, which is accessed by a trapdoor (which used to be a window) and is connected to the dining area. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, an oven, a combination of refrigerator and freezer, and a dishwasher. Of course, there are toasters, blenders, water kettles and a dinnerware set.
There are 3 bedrooms in which there can sleep up to 5 or 6 people. The bed in the first room (with air conditioning) is about 2 meters long and 1.60 m wide. Through a door and three steps you can go from the living room to a small independent bedroom in which there is a double bed of 1.40 m x 2.00 m and a wardrobe. In the last bedroom, which is accessed through a staircase, there is a bed of about 2 meters long and 0.8 meters wide which can be extended up to 1.60 meters wide, if necessary. In one bathroom there is a bathtub (with shower) also decorated with beautiful Andalusian elements. A small moorish dome creates a pleasant feeling of spaciousness in the room. The second bathroom has a shower.
We would like to point out that as a rule we cannot accept any bookings with booking gaps of more than 2-3 days maximum. The holiday home must therefore be free for up to 2 days before any arrival and after any departure; otherwise, at least 7 days.
General information
Renting a car or a private car is mandatory, as this holiday home is located in the countryside, there are no street names and it is not accessible by public transport. The property is private and although there are houses in the area, none are in the immediate vicinity.
Pool season: usually from 01 April to 31 October
Internet (WLAN): 4,- Euro per day, payable in cash on site
Your on-site support speaks German, English and Spanish. We will meet you at an easy to find place, drive with you to your holiday home, hand you the keys and tell you all the special features of the house and the surroundings. If there should be any problem, we will be at your disposal by e-mail and/or telephone.
Due to legal regulations in Andalusia we need the following information from all tenants before arrival: First name, surname, sex, date of birth, ID number and the date of issue as well as the e-mail address and mobile phone number of the main tenant for contact purposes.
Please note: keys can be handed over on the day of arrival from 16:00 to 22:00. After 22:00 there is a night supplement of 50, - Euro and between 24:00 and 01:00 there is a night supplement of 80, - Euro. It is NOT possible to hand over the keys or to arrive at the house when your flight lands after 23:00 as scheduled. So if you have a night flight arriving later than 23.00 in Malaga we recommend you to book a hotel room directly at the airport!
For the use of the central heating (of course only on explicit request and if available according to the property description) 100,- Euro per week (= max. one big gas bottle) have to be paid.
Please note that a deposit of 400€ must be paid in cash on arrival. The deposit will be refunded by bank transfer, once it has been verified that there are no damages, within a maximum period of 2 weeks.
If you bring a dog with you (if allowed according to the property description), a deposit of 200,- Euro and 8,- Euro per night of additional rent will be charged. Please inform us BEFORE booking about the dog breed/type, size, long or short hair!
Note on electricity costs for houses with air conditioning and/or electric heating: On your arrival and departure day we read the electricity meter together with you. If the consumption is higher than the amount included in the rental price (150 kw per week or 21,5 kw per day for stays of more than one week), an additional payment in cash on site (0,39 Euro per kw) is due for this consumption part. With economical or reasonable electricity consumption you can expect about 150 kw per week.
